Jesus died on the cross, and his body laid in a new tomb. But on the resurrection day, early in the morning, the tomb was empty. These things made embarrassed and distracted to some unbelievers.
That’s why some denied this historical incidence. Some say the women who went to apply oil to Jesus body went to the wrong tomb. Some states, Jesus didn’t die, but He was unconscious. Somehow He got His conscious back while in the grave and went out of the tomb.
Everyone should remember before stating that, Jesus died declared by the Roman soldiers (John 19:33). One of the Roman soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, and there came out blood and water. Not only that but His body wrapped with a linen cloth and hundred-pound mixture of myrrh and aloes kept there. John 19: 39 mentioned it.
The first century enemy of Jesus also agreed to the fact that Jesus died on the cross and His tomb found empty on the third day. So they tried to hide the truth. For that, they paid a massive amount to the soldiers guarding Jesus tomb. And they spread the rumours that disciple of Jesus stole His body from the tomb. (Matthew 28: 11-15)
But the truth is that Jesus rose with the whole body from the Grave. That is most significant for us. We have the assurance that we will meet one day our relatives, friends who have died. Jesus will never forget. Their bodies will be transformed one day and prepare for the heavenly place (1 Corinthians 15: 35-50).
The empty tomb tells, us that Jesus has defeated the death and resurrected from the grave. It reminds us of a promise of eternal life. The hope in Jesus restored. He will give us eternal life.
The Empty Tomb is the foundation of our firm faith in HIM. O resurrected Lord, we are thankful to you for the empty tomb.
“But now Christ is raised from the dead, first-fruits of those fallen asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:20).
